Mike Cardelle renovated the Waterfront Bar & Grill, gutted the upstairs, installed a sweeping granite bar, mirrors and more sliding glass to provide every seat with a water view.

A restaurant that touted views of Plymouth Harbor and billed itself as “fun, fresh, affordable” has closed after more than a decade.

Waterfront Bar & Grill officially surrendered its liquor license to the town, which was approved by the Plymouth Select Board on Tuesday evening. The request was submitted to the town by owner Michael Cardelle on April 1. The agenda item states "they are no longer in business."

The restaurant at 170 Water St. opened in June 2010 in the former Crow’s Nest space. It had an outdoor raw bar where shuckers prepare oysters or little necks in person, as well as live entertainment and a menu that included offerings of sandwiches, pasta and a number of seafood dishes.

The Patriot Ledger reached out to Cardelle for comment.

The website has been taken down and a person who answered the restaurant’s phone Wednesday morning said the restaurant has been closed for two or three weeks. The restaurant last posted on Facebook in mid-February.

Cardelle is also part owner of West End Grill in Kingston. Prior to opening Waterfront, he was the general manager for East Bay Grille.
